GAMBARAN ANGKA KEJADIAN SKOLIOSIS PADA SISWA SMKN 10 CAWANG
PENGABDIAN KEPADA MASYARAKAT
Abstract
Data terakhir jumlah penduduk dengan rentang usia 10-19 tahun (usia sekolah dengan potensi tinggi terkena scoliosis) di Propinsi Jakarta pada tahun 2018-2019 berada pada kisaran 10% (1,48 juta jiwa) dari jumlah total penduduk (10,18 juta jiwa). Berdasarkan data tersebut maka dapat dikatakan dan atau diperhitungkan sebagai besaran indikasi permasalahan dengan potensi angka kejadian scoliosis yang akan terjadi di Propinsi Jakarta adalah sebesar 10%, dan tentu jumlah ini akan diikuti dengan besarnya potensi biaya pengobatan atau penanganan yang akan ditanggung bila hal ini terjadi dan menjadi tanggungan dari pemerintah sehubungan dengan jaminan kesehatan bagi masyarakat, selain itu hal ini juga akan berpotensi risiko pada perkembangan dari masyarakat dalam hal kualitas produktifitas dan kecerdasan. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hal ini merupakan masalah yang perlu mendapat perhatian sehingga Program Studi fisioterapi Fakultas Vokasi Universitas Kristen Indonesia yang berkedudukan di wilayah Jakarta Timur sebagai suatu institusi pendidikan tinggi yang memiliki tugas tridharma perguruan berupa Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM), melaksanakan program PKM di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Jakarta Timur untuk memberikan sosialisasi pada siswa / masyarakat usia sekolah tentang permasalahan, pencegahan dan penanganan scoliosis melalui intervensi fisioterapi. Adapun yang menjadi tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengedukasi siswa terhadap permasalahan yang memiliki potensi besar terjadi pada usia sekolah dan bagaimana mencegah dengan melakukan intervensi mandiri sehingga dicapai penurunan angka kejadian skoliosis.
