Abstract
Knee osteoarthritis adalah suatu penyakit degereratif berupa gangguan muskuloskeletal yang terjadi pada sendi lutut dikarenakan integritas dari artikular tulang rawan yang rusak sehingga dapat menimbulkan nyeri. Nyeri pada lutut yang dibiarkan terus-menerus tanpa dilakukan pengobatan akan menyebabkan gangguan fungsi fisik pada individu yang terkena knee osteoarthritis. Salah satu intervensi untuk mengatasi nyeri pada knee osteoarthritis yaitu retrowalking. Mekanisme kerja dari retrowalking dalam menurunkan nyeri yaitu melalui mekanisme biomekaniknya yang unik yaitu dimulai dari fase toe on. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas retrowalking terhadap penurunan nyeri pada lansia dengan knee osteoarthritis di Puskesmas Kendal Kerep. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan desain penelitian pre-eksperimental yakni dengan pendekatan prospektif dan menggunakan desain One-Group pre-post test design. Hasil dari pnelitian ini adalah pemberian terapi retrowalking dapat mengurangi nyeri secara significant pada pasien knee osteoarthritis.
