PENGARUH INFRA RED, MASSAGE DAN MIRROR EXERCISE PADA BELL'S PALSY
INFRA RED, MASSAGE AND MIRROR EXERCISE EFFECT IN BELL'S PALSY
Abstract
Latar belakang : Prevalensi Bell’s Palsy (BP) di beberapa negara cukup tinggi. Di Inggris dan Amerika berturut-turut 22,4 dan 22,8 penderita per 100,000 penduduk per tahun. Di Belanda (1987) 1 penderita per 5000 orang dewasa dan 1 penderita per 20,000 anak per tahun. Data yang dikumpulkan di 4 buah rumah sakit di Indonesia diperoleh frekuensi BP sebesar 19,55% dari seluruh kasus neuropati, dan terbanyak terjadi pada usia 21-30 tahun. Penderita diabetes mempunyai resiko 29% lebih tinggi, dibanding non-diabetes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen jenis pretest-posttest. Intervensi yang diberikan berupa terapi infra red, massage dan mirror exercise.
Tujuan : tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan infra red, massage dan mirror exercise pada bell’s palsy
Hasil : hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa penelitian ini memiliki distribusi data normal karena nilai sig. untuk Ugo fish score sebelum terapi 0.652 dan untuk setelah terapi 0.95 yang berada pada > 0,05. Sedangkan untuk uji hipotesis didapatkan nilai sig. 2 tailed sebesar 0,000 yang berada pada < 0,05 sebagai batas kritis, yang berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Maka hasil terapi ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan nilai kekuatan otot wajah yang signifikan antara sebelum dengan sesudah terapi.
Kesimpulan : Pada penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa penggunaan infra red, massage dan mirror exercise efektif dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot serta perbaikan nervus facialis partisipan.
